Favorite Group: BACKSTREET BOYS!

A bit inappropriate, eh?

Hope you like my site because I dedicate A LOT of time to it. You can even ask my parents.

Let's see... Why did I start the site? Numero uno- I love the Backstreet Boys! I was inspired by all the other BSB sites out there to go and make my own. I love to surf, chat, and work on my site...

Anyway, why do I like the Backstreet Boys? When I heard Everybody (Backstreet's Back), I immediately went out and bought their debut album. And then there was the spring of 99'... I was watching TV and saw a commercial... Some guy was being chased by bull... Hey wait! That's a Backstreet Boy, isn't it? Then I heard I Want It That Way... That's when I officially became a huge fan.

I went to my first concert September 23rd, 1999. I wrote "A Night I Still Remember" for an English assignment about the beginning of the show. You can find it on my Fan-Non Fiction page. There are also pics on the Concert Pics page. But since it only describes the very beginning, I'll elaborate here...

Seats: Section 214/ Row 14 (upper level, but at least I was there!)

I went with my mom, my little sister, and my friend. Before I go on, I would like to thank my uncle for getting the tickets. He was helping us, him and my cousin (his son) went the next night. Anyway, when I first stepped out in the arena goose bumps literally went up my back. The stage and everything... it was breathtaking. I thought Wow, they're going to be RIGHT THERE!

Anyway, here are some highlights:

Kevin flew in front of our section during QPG (WMH)

They sang "Happy Birthday" to some guy, I think it was their tour manager. I always wanted to hear them sing Happy Birthday, don't ask why cause I don't know...

They sat on our side of the stage for Back To Your Heart and they got hit by beanie babies the whole time (AJ twice, he got hit in the shoulder and the foot I think)

The performance for Everybody was amazing

The whole "rush from the crowd" was immense. It was crazy! I'm so glad I didn't get a headache.

It brought out the crazy side in me. I was going nuts, you can even ask the people there. No wait, they were crazier than me. One girl behind us was screaming so much that she sounded like she was trying to lay an egg by the middle of the concert.

The person in front of us had a sign that said, "AJ, I'll melt the cheese on your #5". It had the McDonalds symbol with pictures of AJ surrounding it.

When we were trying to get onto the exit to get to the arena, it was all backed up and every car was full of fans. There were people in front of us dancing, we were blasting music, cars had signs and stuff written all over them. Limo's would pass and everyone would honk and wave. I made a sign last minute in my car and held it up to passersby.

We saw tour buses on the other side of the fence separating them from the parking lot. My mom was like "Where's the Car?" and I said "By the buses! Come on! Let's go!" (we didn't)

It was an experience of a lifetime, I certainly don't regret missing a soccer game for it. I had so much fun and really hope I am able to get tickets to their next tour.

Okay, next tour...

Where shall I start...

The one major difference between this concert and the last... No signs were allowed! So this is what me and my friends did...

We were up late the night before making signs. We made a plan to sneak them in. We would hide them under our coats and just pretend we were hugging ourselves to keep warm. Did we succeed? Of course! The temperature was bitter (in the teens) and super windy...

After that we ran into the Arena giggling. Here's who went:

Me, my little sister, my Dad, Carrie (again), 6 other friends (we had 10 tix), and my friends mom, who stayed in the parents lounge.

Sharon and Danielle from Z100's Pajama Party were there. Some of my friends ran over to get their autographs, I didn't really care. I went on to purchase a program and the biggest poster I could find...

After that accomplished (we were all split up by then), Me and a friend made our way to the seats. Finally we all met up, I switched seats with my dad (cause they were closer) during Krystals performance...

Krystal was amazing, however she wasn't what I expected. I was expecting another Mandy Moore or Britney Spears, but instead we got a 19 year old with a buzz cut who plays her own instuments and writes her own music. You go girl!

Anyway, she went on around 7:30, sang 3 or 4 songs including Super Girl, I think I'm going to get her album when it comes out...

8:30pm

Lights went out. Screams were above any safe level. The show began...
